Hi I was wondering if you knew how to move aps in to folders on the IPhone? My friend is trying to figure it out but It seems to create duplicate folders when I try to do it. Is there a way to do it for the blind? Thanks
This is how I do it. It will take a bit of practice this way, but it works for me.
I’m going to say touch, not tap, because when I say tap, people tend to stab the poor phone, or slap it to death, so touch. Loll. Maybe Apple should change that.
I double touch the thing I want to move and hold my finger still.
The phone says moving, and whatever it is.
Keeping my finger on it, not letting go, I slide it to the place I want it to go. As you slide, slowly, you hear the phone telling you were you are.
If you are trying to get inside a folder the phone says when you are on that folder.
You let go when you get to were you want to be, then press the home key to set it.
If the folder you want is on another page, you slide to the side of the phone you want to switch to.
Example, boing back pages, you will slide to the left and wait as the phone announces the pages. If you want to go forward, you will slide to the right and wait.
Soon as you are on the page you want to be you can continue sliding to get to the folder, or if that is too many things at once, simply let go and the thing you want will now show on that page.
After that you can start over and move it.
A drawback to stopping is if you’ve got lots of apps, and your pages are full. If you stop, you might cause something say on page 3, to get displaced and move to page 4, because you’ve filled up page 3 and the last thing on that page has to move to make room for the new item.
If you don’t have lots, stopping is okay.
That is my method.
hello i do the same way. take your time and don't rush makeing folders. . it will all fit together in time.. i start slowely learning a new step. of working with tecnolegy.
Lol I wish I'd seen an explanation like that when I originally learned. The first time I started moving things around, I had apps going in all different directions, and it took me a ridiculous amount of time to get the hang of putting them where I wanted them.
Also, you mentioned the phone creating duplicate folders. You can rename a folder if you want to.
To do this, double touch and hold on the folder you want to rename. VO will say "Moving," and then the name of the folder. Lift your finger, and then double-touch on the name of the folder again. At that point, you'll be in a text field with the folder's current name. If you flick right, you'll find a "Clear Text" button. Double-touching that will clear the original name, and you can then enter what you want the folder's name to be.
